Clubs & Organizations

Students have the opportunity to join many clubs and organizations at Braelinn Elementary School.  Each listing includes grade eligibility, focus areas, and sponsor information.  For club related questions, please message the club sponsor(s) via email or ParentSquare.

Battle of the Books

Students will read a list of books and compete in a trivia type competition against other elementary schools.

  • Grades: 4th and 5th
  • Focus: Reading and learning to discuss books in a book club format.
  • Sponsors: Patricia Hipps and Courtney Cummings

Science Olympiad

Students work in teams to explore science topics through hands-on investigations and competitive events aligned with the Georgia Elementary Science Olympiad.

  • Grades: 3rd, 4th and 5th
  • Focus:  Teamwork, critical thinking skills and experimenting
  • Sponsors: Paige Beaty and Angie McClanahan

Chorus

It is a musical group of students that sing, perform and enjoy making music with other students. A concert is held in December to showcase the group.

  • Grades: 4th and 5h
  • Focus: Singing
  • Sponsor: Amy Meyer

Chimes

Instrumental group of students that learn to play the tones chimes. A concert is held in December to showcase the group.

  • Focus: Learning to play the tones chimes.

Math Bowl

Students qualify through a test, and top scorers represent Braelinn in Math Bowl competitions.

  • Grades: 4th and 5th
  • Focus:  Teamwork skills, Advanced Math problem solving  and reasoning
  • Sponsors: Kim Rich and Kelly Miles

WBST

5th grade students given the opportunity to broadcast the morning Braelinn news.

  • Grades: 5th
  • Focus: Give the daily morning news of what is happening each day at Braelinn Elementary.
  • Sponsors: Patricia Hipps and Maranda Jaggers

Good News Clubs

Students participate in weekly meetings that include Bible lessons, songs, games and scripture memory activities.

  • Grades: 1st-5th
  • Focus:  Teaching moral values, character developing, and faith-based learning
  • Sponsors:  Ellie Rover, Child Evangelism Fellowship

Challenge 24

Students participate in mental math competition and card games put on by RESA.

  • Grades: 3rd-5th
  • Focus: Build number sense, pattern recognition and problem-solving skills
  • Sponsors: Erika Creighton, Allison Swift and Brittany Mundok

Kindness Kids

Students participate in helping serve at various non-profits around Fayette County.

  • Grades: 4th and 5th
  • Focus: Service Learning Focused
  • Sponsors: Heather Wible

Student Lighthouse

Students become representatives of their homerooms to be the student voice for the class.

  • Grades: 2nd-5th
  • Focus: Promoting Student voice and leadership
